The team behind the successful launch of the UK Graphic Awards (UKGA) have announced a brand new competition for the UK and Ireland Sign industry. The Sign Awards ceremony for finalists will be held at the iconic Birmingham Town Hall and has been scheduled for Wednesday 22nd March, during next year’s Sign & Digital UK Exhibition at the NEC. It is sure to be another fantastic opportunity to bring sign-makers together to promote and celebrate their industry.

Dan Tyler, Founder of the UK Graphic Awards, says, “It’s been four years since the signage industry has had the opportunity to acknowledge and recognise its incredible achievements at an event like this. We have seen how important this is with the great success of the UK Graphic Awards, and we wanted to bring this experience and excitement back to the sign industry.”

Prizes will be awarded across a range of categories and disciplines. The full list will be announced soon, which will include a best-in-show and company of the year. Entries will open on 1st November and is open to all sign-makers in UK and Ireland. An independent jury will judge all the entries, and the organisers will follow the same blind, anonymised, fair and transparent process that UKGA has become known for.

Dan adds, “Several of our brilliant UKGA sponsors & partners have already signed up to be involved with this new event as we aim to cover every key element of the sign-making industry. We are also very excited to be hosting the ceremony in the middle of Sign & Digital UK, which is the UK sign industry’s biggest and most popular event. This is the rightful time and place for a sign awards ceremony, and it is sure to add to the prestige and inclusiveness of the event.”

The website and how to enter the awards will be available from 1st November at thesignawards.com. Details on categories and awards will be on the website and the deadline for submissions is 16th December.

Dan continues, “We very much aim to build on the success of the UK Graphic Awards, which have been very well received by the industry. We are particularly keen to be able to welcome back ITV’s Emma Jesson as host as she has been excellent. She has taken the time to get to know our industry and we hope to once again have her as our MC.”
