Phototex is Sustainable Solution for Wall Decorations

To meet the sustainability requirements of Hilson Moran, a leading firm of building consulting engineers, Vinyl Impression has provided and installed several wall decorations using Phototex. This self-adhesive fabric material is fully recyclable, fully removeable and repositionable and never damages walls or leaves sticky residue. It is also very easy to install, all of which made Phototex the ideal solution for Hilson Moran.

Hilson Moran provides a comprehensive range of services in connection with buildings and the built environment. Emma Gold, Senior Graphic Designer for Hilson Moran says, “Sustainability is core to our values and beliefs. As a significant provider of professional advice, assessment, and design services, we recognise our responsibility to encourage sustainable development, to understand and manage business activities to prevent pollution. We also strive to ensure that the best practicable environmental options are always proposed to protect the environment, while achieving our business aims.”

Therefore, one of the company’s biggest concerns prior to starting the project was ensuring that any printed decorations were made of sustainable and recyclable materials. Emma says, “We hadn’t worked with a vinyl decoration consultant before, and Vinyl Impression was one of several suppliers we contacted. Vinyl Impression were extremely detailed in their desire to understand our needs and the solutions they proposed exactly met our requirements. They were also the only supplier to send us a material sample, which gave us a great idea of how the final prints would look and how easy to use the material was.”

Installing Phototex was very easy. The installations went very smoothly with no surprises and no problems. “Everyone in the office was very impressed with the quality of the work. The install process was, in a word, reassuring.  Any questions we had were swiftly answered following the survey undertaken by Vinyl Impression, which comfortably allayed any fears we had.  Everything was well organised, and I was well prepared for what to expect. First Class customer service!” she adds.

Phototex is a PVC-free fabric material that is fully recyclable, which met Hilson Moran’s key sustainability requirements.  In 2021, The company joined the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) Net Zero Carbon Buildings commitment. “As part of this commitment, we are implementing a detailed roadmap to reduce carbon emissions and increase renewably sourced energy within occupied assets – including a pledge to only occupy assets that are net zero carbon in operation by 2030. In 2021 we launched our Carbon Manifesto, which sets out that by 2030 we will achieve net zero carbon and adhere to circular economy principles.  We also have an Environmental Management System which meets the requirements of ISO 14001, externally certified by BM Trada,” says Emma.

She concludes, “The installation itself was superb. The installers took care to ensure everything was perfect and they made the whole process very smooth with no surprises. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Vinyl Impression and to use Phototex. Nothing was too much trouble and an excellent job well delivered. I would happily recommend them for excellent products and service.”
